At the Hobby Horse Quilt Shoppe, a strong community is growing. A community of like-minded creatives who love the quilting craft and wish to share it with anyone/everyone. All of you are a part of this community and we know that your generosity is overwhelming. It is with that spirit that we have designated the first Wednesday of every month in 2026 Quilting Bee Day.

Our classroom will be open to anyone who would like to help create charity quilts. We will supply the materials and suggest a block pattern - Brenda will introduce you to a new block each month and provide all of the instructions needed to complete it. We are asking our community to bring your machines & sewing kits, your abilities and your desire to give back through the creation of quilts.

The majority of the quilts that are produced at The Quilting Bee, will be sold at The Stable.  All proceeds from the sale of these quilts will go directly to the Townsend Smith Foundation.   

For 2026, the Townsend Smith Foundation has been chosen as our primary charity group. 

The Townsend Smith Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to creating North Halton’s first residential hospice. Property has been secured at Trafalgar Road and 5 Side Road, and skilled architects are designing and planning this vital healthcare facility for our community. With support, they can bring compassionate end-of-life care to North Halton, providing our community with a place of dignity, comfort, and support for all who need it.
